Thinking of a second income? Why not apply for a job at UBER EATS. They are always looking for new drivers. People will always be hungry and want to eat. Maybe you have been considering it, but are not sure on how it all works. Here are the basics to help you understand how to become a successful Uber Eats driver.
How Does Uber Eats operate?
Uber Eats is a food delivery app that is now used by millions of people throughout the U.S. It became popular since the regular rideshare program UBER came into existence. It is similar to the UBER app platform in terms of the easy way to set up an account and to order food to be delivered right at your door.
The customer places their order that is connected to your restaurant of choice. Once the order is placed, you as the Uber Eats driver, will go to the bar or restaurant, pick up the order and be on your way to the destination of the customer who placed the order. Payments and tips are typically handled directly on the app. Generally there is no physical money exchanged, unless of course you get a private tip from the customer.
How Does Uber Eats coordinate with Delivery Partners?
As soon as an order is placed, the delivery partner will get the notification to prepare the order. The Uber Eats driver will pick it up at the chosen bar or restaurant. The driver gets paid when the transaction gets completed and the credit card is in good standing. Sometimes there are special instructions, which may imply an added cost. Time is a factor as well. Just as with Uber driver, there are “surge” costs which is contingent to the time of day or holiday.
Delivery With Uber Eats app
You can potentially earn some food money working for the Uber Food delivery service. The best part is that you can work on your own schedule. So if you have kids to pick up after school, or have a doctors appointment, you can work around your own schedule. This is what makes working for uber eats an attractive offer. However, you do need to have a good set of wheels.
There are vehicle requirements for Uber such as:

Unlike Uber drivers, where your vehicle needs to be from 2010.
Uber Eats Pay structure
An Uber eats driver can make anywhere from $8 to $12 per hour. This does not include gas or other car maintenance needs. However, you can make way more money depending on what area you are in and of course you can make excellent tips which don’t have to be taxed on. Your best bet is during the food rush hours which are typically from noon to about 2 pm for a standard office hours.
Evening money can be just as lucrative especially in the East coast of the U.S. like Boston or New York where the winters can be cold and nobody wants to go outside if they don’t have to. In just a couple of hours you can make a nice amount of money. Remember deliver with a smile. It could get you nice tip!
Uber Eats Order Types
Location! Location! Location! You will get first time users and you will get regular customers. Treat any customer with good service and respect and watch your bank account grow. I have a friend in New York, and he would park by 2nd avenue and 59th street. First two hours nothing and than in the third hour his phone was exploding with orders! In those crazy two hours. If you know New York, it is not an easy city to drive through, and yet with all the competition out there of other food delivery services, he has a good pay day.
Hence, the key to becoming an Uber Eats driver means having a lot of patience and eventual rewards for the wait.
